Whether it’s via writing their story out, finding ways to be more productive, working from home or simply carving more time for themselves – mothers should be supported and encouraged and I’m here to do that with my blog. and upcoming courses.

- We have no family here in the state so rely heavily on our online village and our friends
- My husband and I were a long-distance couple (UK and Australia)
- Our daughter was born at 32 weeks but thrived from the word “go”
Blogging about mental health is my jam!
I’ve been coping with anxiety and depression for over 15 years.
This Anxious Mum was created when I was newly pregnant with my daughter and anxious about becoming a new mum.
I read a lot of mental health blogger posts about how to decrease anxiety and how to prepare for life with a baby (when you’re an anxious mama). It made me feel less alone.
After the birth of our daughter, I started posting on Facebook to connect with other mothers about our life. Being premature, her birth was a bit different and life in the NICU made my anxiety skyrocket.
Why am I telling you this? Because without online support, things wouldn’t have turned out like they did. Through the online communities I found (and the best mental health blogs). I was able to find motherhood tips,the best advice for new parents (although I had to sift through a lot of nonsense!).
I made lifelong friendships, found awesome breastfeeding tips, received social anxiety support, and found the best GP a girl could ask for.
Why I write about anxiety
Writing about mental health is the most fulfilling creative pursuit and I’m so excited to be able to share the tools I’ve learned in my (gasp!) years of therapy with you.
Because I’m not going to lie. I’m not recovered. I’m recovering. Each day I battle with anxiety. And I believe that honesty and transparency in the mental health blogging world is so sacred.
I became tired of joining courses or reading posts by mental health bloggers that would promise to BANISH ANXIETY IN 7 DAYS!!
My goal not to abolish anxiety and depression but to co-exist with my mental illness. To accomplish my goals despite them.
